Billie Eilish: A Window into the Mind, May 2022

Art exhibition theme: "Windows." I focused on singer-songwriter Billie Eilish, who overcame depression by making music and thus furthered her career. Eilish’s emotional songs and interviews are a window into her inner demons and her new successes despite them. She won five Grammy awards in 2019 (left), was the youngest-ever Met Gala host in 2021 (right), and was the first artist born in the 21st century to win an Academy Award in 2022 (middle). The three glowing milestones in front of Eilish’s dark quotes from earlier years illustrate her journey from complete hopelessness to peace of mind.

I used India ink for the outlines and the text, and watercolor pencils to create the vibrant colors and golden glow.
