Mathematician and award-winning artist applying abstract reasoning and 3D modelling skills to real-world problems
Unfathomable World of Björk series won Best in Show in the Mixed Media category, awarded a $5,000 scholarship and publication in the Woodlands Arts Council's art anthology. Recognised for innovation in design and execution through the integration of emerging technologies (3D printing, digital sculpting, etc.) with conceptual fine art practice
Unfathomable World of Björk series placed in the top 5% of entries nationwide and advanced to final adjudication. Created works using ZBrush, 3D printers, and laser-cutting tools. Produced a vinyl record, wearable pieces, and interactive installations
Personalised comic-style poster for the musical "Urinetown" placed in the top 5% of entries nationwide and advanced to final adjudication. Developed a visually engaging design blending satirical illustration and graphic storytelling to reflect the musical’s tone and themes
Björk vinyl earned a place in the 2023 nationwide student anthology, and Björk laser-cut frame earned a place in the 2024 nationwide student anthology.
A mixed media series exploring how the musical artist Björk defies societal expectations with her avant-garde style. I convey her unapologetic individuality through vibrant colours, fluid shapes, and unusual mediums. I symbolise her individualism through innovative technology, prototyping and producing layered narratives. Turning drawings into 3D mixed media designs was an unfathomable experience.
Designed a series of black-and-white line drawings of Björk in Procreate, converted the alphas into 3D models in ZBrush. Planned out the composition by pasting the line drawings onto a sample vinyl photo in Procreate, then scaled the 3D models appropriately and printed on a FormLabs resin 3D printer. Manipulated the Post album cover in Procreate to create a vibrant background and printed on poster paper, then attached the decorated vinyl.
Reused one of the black-and-white alphas, overlayed it as a mask on a cylinder in ZBrush, drew in extra lines to fill in gaps. Extracted the mask to create a 3D object and added a torus for metal wire. Experimented with product design in Adobe Dimension, focusing on using a dynamic colour scheme and composition. Printed model on a FormLabs resin 3D printer, attached metal wire.
Reused one of the black-and-white alphas, converted into 3D object in ZBrush and twisted it using the deformation tool. Experimented with shading in ZBrush for future projects. Scaled to size of the lamp and printed on a MakerBot plastic 3D printer. Attached model to lamp with glue.
Designed three separate layers in procreate, converted into SVG files in Adobe Illustrator to be compatible with GlowForge. Produced a paper prototype, adjusted design, and sent to GlowForge laser cutter to create wooden design. Enhanced depth effect by adding wooden spacers between panels.
Designed three separate layers in procreate, converted into SVG files in Adobe Illustrator to be compatible with GlowForge. Chose brightly coloured acrylic sheets, and sent to GlowForge laser cutter to create wooden design. Experimented with lighting design to play into the translucency and colour overlay of the acrylic sheets.
Produced advertisements for three high school theatre productions, using the real actors and thematic elements as inspiration.
Created t-shirts for the cast and crew of two high school theatre productions, incorporating the names of everyone involved into the design.
